Why is my family tracking weight?

My family constantly asks about my weight and pressures me to weigh myself. Sometimes I feel very uncomfortable about this because I don't feel good about myself. How can I explain to them that this is wearing me down?

Do you really have to explain everything to the family?

They used to do this to me for a while as well. My mom was insistently saying it was for "your health," but it made me lose interest in my own work.

So, aren't you ever weighed? Maybe they're increasing the pressure because there might be a serious health problem.

@soncaykaldi I actually check periodically, but they always have the mindset of 'you're doing it wrong.'

@camkenari, did you say this to your mom clearly? If it’s been conveyed indirectly all the time, they might have misunderstood it.

If there's pressure, you need to express your feelings directly and clearly. A sentence like 'Your judgment stresses me out' could be helpful. But if they still insist, you should seek psychological support as a group. 😳

I don't think everyone is well-intentioned. If my mom did something like that, I would seriously cool off 😳

So what do you do when they try to weigh you down? I mean, how do you react if they insist, does the atmosphere get tense?
