Family pressure is already stress in itself. Once, just because I wanted to advance in my own job, my mom literally said, 'You'll stay at home.' You need to learn to filter these things.
Let's not confuse motivation with pressure. One supports you, the other nags you. If my mom had pressured me to 'get a promotion,' I think I would have given up on my job.

@camkenari I think you can't speak so definitively. Families can sometimes lead you in the wrong direction, but they might also have experiences. It’s not fair to say "tighten your throat" just off the top of your head.
