Last night, while I was heading home, a man was constantly walking in front of me. I would look, and he was turning onto a side road; I would look again, and he was back in front of me. I got confused and was really scared, but I didn’t change my path. What would you do in such a situation? Should I have actually been worried?
I experienced something like this too; there was someone who appeared in front of me and then disappeared. I immediately changed my route and went into a store to wait for a bit. So if you feel like you’re being followed, it makes sense to just go into a place 😅
I usually pretend to be calling someone on my phone or actually call someone. You have to be careful, especially if someone is dropping off and picking up at the same spot on side streets; it's not a very normal situation 😅
Honestly, don't you also have the possibility of feeling paranoid about being followed? The guy might just be trying to find his way. But if you were really uneasy, you could have approached him and shot him a sharp look; maybe he would have backed off right away.
In such situations, the safest approach is to move towards a crowded place or signal someone. If you call a friend directly and pretend to talk, or say something out loud, someone who is usually bothering you will typically walk away immediately. If a suspicious person is actually following you, they won't continue doing so.
Let me add this as well, the guy's appearance was not very noticeable, he looked like an ordinary person. I mean, I can't really say he was "scary" in a clear way, but his movements were genuinely strange. First, he would veer off, then when I advanced, he would reappear in front of me.
I don't think the guy just ran into you by chance. Maybe he saw you somewhere before, you know, somewhere around. Because the part where he comes up to you and then goes back is really strange. Could he have wanted to get your attention?
Just your feeling something here is enough. Even if the guy's intentions are good, why does he keep occupying the same space over and over again? Women are already crushed under these relaxed attitudes while being constantly on edge like this. We're getting more stressed because this is becoming normalized.
The part where you stray from the path and then reappear keeps you on edge. Because on one hand, you want to stay on your way, while on the other hand, you're constantly on high alert. With that panic, your mind gets completely scattered anyway; it’s incredibly unsettling.
