Friends, I’ve been having pain in the lower part of my abdomen for 3 days. Sometimes it intensifies, sometimes it eases, but it hasn’t completely gone away. I hesitated to ask for time off work because I thought it would be inappropriate, but now it seems like the situation is getting worse. I told my mom, and she said, ‘You must have caught a cold, it’ll pass.’ But I’ve started to get scared. Do you think this could be something serious? I’m tired of feeling sick all the time.
I experienced something similar; I also had a cyst. Go see a gynecologist right away, they will do an ultrasound.
How old are you, and what is your menstrual cycle like? This could also be an important detail.
@camkenari I’m 27 years old, my period is still a while away, but I’m already irregular.
You say your daughter has been in pain for three days that won’t go away; your health is more important than embarrassment. Why is asking for permission such an issue?
@yazipsildim the workplace issue is a whole other fear, I think we can understand that. But the pain looks serious.
If lower abdominal pain becomes chronic, possibilities such as appendicitis or ovarian cyst should be considered. You need to see a general surgeon or a gynecologist.
You can get a cyst from catching a cold, what my mom said might be true. Seriously, check if you caught a cold.
@uykuarasi that’s wrong, a cyst is not related to cold exposure or anything like that. It can occur due to hormonal or other reasons.
Go to the doctor. Don’t wait.
Irregular menstruation can already be a sign of hormonal imbalance. Considering it alongside abdominal pain, it’s very risky to wait for it to resolve on its own. Start with an obstetrician, and refer to another specialty if necessary.
