I really fell into the blunder of wearing white pants

Hey girls, hi! Today I made a huge mistake by wearing white pants on the second day of my period, and what I feared happened at work. I don't know if I made a fool of myself, but somehow I threw myself home. I was actually using a pad, but it leaked, so I didn't realize at all. I'm thinking whether I should switch to a tampon, but that really scares me. I can't help but worry if the string would break or if it would get stuck inside. Honestly, is there anyone among you who has overcome this fear? Is it really that comfortable?
