My landlord raised the rent in violation of the contract, what should I do?
Last year we signed a 5-year lease. But this month, the landlord called me and demanded an almost 100% increase, saying, 'You see the inflation, my costs are very high too.' When I reminded him of the contract, he said, 'Are you going to take me to court, what are you going to do?' Honestly, how should I proceed in this situation? I'm really puzzled. Am I overreacting, or is my right clearly being violated?
