Giving a chance to the person I met through an arranged meeting

I talked to a boy at my mother's insistence; actually, he doesn't look bad at all, but he's very quiet, like he never starts a conversation. I did all the talking the whole evening. I wonder if it's because he's nervous or if that's just his personality. Honestly, I can't figure it out. Should I give it another chance, or is it a waste of time?
