I have burning while urinating, but I couldn't see a doctor

I’ve been experiencing a burning sensation while urinating for a week. At first, I didn’t take it seriously, but it hasn’t gone away. My work is very busy, and I couldn’t take time off to see a doctor. I’ve started to pay more attention to drinking water, but it hasn’t helped. Do things like this go away on their own? Or do I definitely need to see a doctor? If anyone has experienced this before, could you share? Also, which specialist should I see in this situation? I’m not sure, to be honest.

I had the same thing happen to me. I started burning when I urinated, I waited a week and it didn’t go away. Finally, I went to the urologist and they found an infection. They gave me antibiotics, and I got better when I drank plenty of water. Don’t wait, don’t let it get worse.

I understand that you go to work every day and work, but hasn’t this burning sensation decreased at all? Is it constant or does it happen intermittently? Based on that, maybe we can come up with easier solutions.

I can’t say it’s always there, but I feel it at least 2-3 times a day. It seems stronger in the morning, but it gets lighter toward the evening.

Well guys, let me be clear, this doesn’t seem like something that’s going to pass just by drinking water! You’re saying to the person asking that you couldn’t go to the doctor, but these kinds of things can become chronic if you wait too long; I think you’re showing unnecessary bravado.

You need to take this seriously. It could be a urinary tract infection or the beginning of stone formation. You can go to both urology and internal medicine. But regardless, a test is necessary because if the infection reaches the kidneys, it can cause more problems.

@nuranhemsire does it really hit the kidneys? I also had complaints like this at times, but I never paid attention :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:

@leyla1234 how right is it to not care? I think everyone who asks should find a way to see a doctor. But I want to ask, since you said you’re drinking water, how much water do you drink daily? I know that 1 liter, for example, is not enough.

@pelin_derin I’m trying to drink about 2 liters a day. Normally, I used to drink quite little, but I’ve been getting used to water for the last week, though it seems like it hasn’t worked

The amount of water is good, but it’s not a solution on its own… At least they do a urine test at the pharmacy before going, ask about that, you’ll see the infection rate. Until you’re sure, stay away from caffeinated things.
