I’ve been experiencing bloating and gas issues for the last few days. Sometimes I hear noises, and I feel very uncomfortable in crowded places. I actually want to see a doctor, but I feel ashamed to explain this condition. What do you think I should do? Even thinking out loud feels weird.
Those sounds are really embarrassing, I get you. I had a phase where I had a gas problem too, I would freeze up especially in big meetings. I went to a gastroenterologist, and it turned out to be related to reflux. I think you should go see a doctor directly, you’ll feel much more comfortable.
If yogurt doesn’t work, don’t bother, because such things don’t solve the problem for everyone. My sister had a similar situation; it turns out she had gluten sensitivity. You need to get a test done directly, there’s nothing to be embarrassed about. Doctors hear about stuff like this every day.
You said it’s just yogurt, but thinking it’s something that can be solved with just yogurt seems a bit strange, sorry. It’s your fault for not going to the doctor after suffering for all those days. Your health is more important than being embarrassed; you need to understand that.
If there are no symptoms like pain, changes in stool, or weight loss besides gas, it may not be something serious. However, it could still be irritable bowel syndrome or a bowel infection. Don’t postpone going to gastroenterology; it will clarify with blood and stool tests.
Update: Thank you for the comments. I’ll add that sometimes even when I watch what I eat, the same issue occurs. I’ve tried mint tea in addition to yogurt, but the situation is the same. I’ve decided to see a doctor and have made an appointment.
Now a lot of people say you should go to the doctor, but I think the suggestions are a bit too serious. I believe the person in question should keep a food diary so they can understand what’s happening for themselves first! We shouldn’t rush to the doctor for everything.
