Which comes first: losing weight or gaining self-confidence?

I am 36 years old and have been trying to lose weight for years but keep starting over. Sometimes I think maybe I need to love myself as I am first, and then things will improve more effectively. But the other voice says, 'lose weight first, then confidence will come.' What do you think is right?

Look, my daughter, I had an acquaintance who always said, 'I'll lose a kilo first, then I'll be happy.' I swear she lost 40 kilos, but not a gram changed. She still doesn't take care of herself. Believe me, you need to get your mind right first. If you don't love yourself, it's going to be hard whether you're 36 or 46.

I was just like you, honestly. In my 30s, I kept doing the same thing over and over. I went to a dietitian for a while, but then I realized I actually needed to work with a psychologist. Don't put too much pressure on yourself, start somewhere but don't neglect to love yourself. Then, everything feels easier.

I'm saying it again: Get psychological support. There's a center in Bursa that offers both diet and therapy together. If you can find something like that, it would be really effective. Because it's difficult to do one without the other.

But I think this is a bit of an excuse, you know? It seems to me like you're always saying, 'I should love myself first,' and then postponing losing weight. First, get yourself in shape physically. I believe when a person sees something beautiful in the mirror, they will love themselves anyway.

In this case, I recommend that you seek psychological support first. Because the constant feeling of going back seems a bit like a lack of motivation. This could also indicate a lack of self-confidence. But on the other hand, it's best not to completely suspend your physical goals; gradually doing both together is the most effective approach.

Thank you very much for the comments. Let me add this; I actually met with a dietitian once, but I couldn't follow up. I don't know why I always postponed seeing a psychologist. Your recommendation for the center in Bursa piqued my interest, and I will seriously look into it.

Sure, but in society, a woman should look good at first glance. People judge you by your appearance anyway. First, lose some weight, then you can look for ways to love yourself. Otherwise, it'll be tough for you in your social life; that's how I see it.
