Tenant won't vacate the house, rent payment was interrupted

The person living in my house hasn't paid rent for a few months, and when I asked them to vacate the property, they seem to be resisting. They literally told me to "wait a bit longer, my situation will improve." But it's my house, and I'm still unsure about how to assert my rights. Should I send a warning, or should I go straight to filing a lawsuit? What is the situation?

Adam has clearly asked for time, saying that he needs to get his affairs in order. Wouldn't it be better to wait a couple more months before sending a warning in this situation? Because once you file a lawsuit, the process will already be prolonged, and you might end up being the one at a disadvantage. Maybe he can sort things out on his own.

But for example, since when has the rent payment been interrupted? Is it 1-2 months, or has it been longer? If the guy is talking like that, maybe his situation is really bad, but if it's testing your patience too, why are you still waiting?

Now you need to initiate legal proceedings. First, you must send a notice and allow a certain period. If they don't leave within that time, you'll need to file an eviction lawsuit. But if you start the process without consulting a lawyer, you might do something incomplete, so be careful.

Let me add that they haven't paid the rent for 4 months. I was fine with it for the first 2 months, I didn't say anything, but for the last 2 months we've been talking, and they always say, 'I'll take care of it.' When I asked them to vacate the house, they said, 'Please give me a little more time.' I have no strength left to endure this 🤷‍♀️

I don't understand, you've been sitting here waiting for four months for rent, and then you're saying 'leave'. The guy isn't leaving anyway. Let's say you're right, why didn't you take precautions at the beginning? Now, because your patience has run out, if you file a lawsuit, you'll just waste time too.
