My husband is upset that I didn't throw my pad in the bathroom

It's been two months since we got married and while I thought my wife and I were getting along quite well, this issue came up. The other day she said, "If guests come, we'll be embarrassed, so please be a bit more careful" because I left my pad in the bathroom. I got upset at that moment, but I stayed silent so it wouldn't escalate. Now I’m thinking, is this a normal discomfort or is she overreacting? Is everyone this sensitive about this? It’s starting to feel a bit strange to have to hide my pad. Who do you think should be right, me or my wife?

my ex used to get hung up on these kinds of things too. I think it's exaggerated. I don't get why someone would scrutinize the details in the guest bathroom.

When you say "ped," is it left out in the open? I mean, not in a box or a trash bag, right? If you're leaving it out, maybe that's why they said that.

The shame related to things like feet is actually completely societal conditioning. It's important to talk with your partner about how this is normal in these situations. Still, you might want to keep in mind the sensitivities of your guests as well 😅
