Misunderstanding the concept of a hairdresser

I walked out of the hair salon in total shock. I said, 'Let’s take a little off,' but I never meant that short. The hair I said should be chin-length is now at the nape of my neck. I don't recognize myself in the mirror. What should I do in a situation like this? Is it worth going back to argue, or should I just accept this?
