The hairdresser cut my hair too short, trying to fix it

I told the hairdresser to only take a little off the ends, but they seriously took away my hair that's supposed to frame my face. Now when I look in the mirror, I feel really strange. How do you all deal with situations like this? Is there no alternative but to wait it out?

I experienced exactly the same thing at a hair salon in Üsküdar. My hair, which I asked to have trimmed at the ends, literally turned into a bob cut. At first, I tried a clip-in extension. It's not very practical, but it kind of helps to tidy up the look at that moment. I think you should give it a try 🙄

You can temporarily save your hair with extensions or clips. But in the long run, use a regular hair oil or something to help it grow faster. Instead of argan oil, you could try castor oil; it's more effective.

The crime is out in the open here at the hair salon. When women say to cut their ends, they usually mean unhealthy parts, not the length. But for some reason, hairdressers take on an attitude of 'I know better.' I would never recommend going back to the same place; this is a boundary violation.

Such things usually happen, I mean most hairdressers seem to have a hard time grasping the concept of 'trimming the ends' for some reason. But I don't think you need to worry too much about it because short hair can sometimes give a fresher and more modern vibe. Maybe you could try to get used to it for a while? 😮‍💨

How did you openly agree with your hairdresser? For example, did you show a reference for your hair length, or did they ask you something to double-check? Was there a detailed conversation before the cut? I'm curious about that 😂

Yeah, actually I said it, I told her to take from the ends, but she cut the length of my hair that highlights my oval face directly to shoulder length. I didn't even notice when she showed me in the mirror; when I got home, I just sat down and looked at my appearance 🙂

I think you should have been a bit clearer too. I mean, "take from the edges" is a very relative expression. Maybe showing a picture or saying something like "this much centimeters" would have been more helpful. Sometimes we just don't express ourselves well enough 🫠

In such situations, the haircut process is important. If you're not satisfied with the cut, you can reach out later to request a correction. Most hairdressers offer a free retouch option for such cases. However, if it's been cut too short, professional extensions or micro-bonds could be a temporary solution. For the regrowth process, I recommend regular maintenance.
