My fiancée is concerned about my nose, she wants me to have surgery

My fiancée asked me the other day if I ever thought about getting rhinoplasty. At first, I didn't pay much attention, but then she really latched onto this topic. There are only a few months until the wedding, and she says she doesn't want others comparing her. I'm used to my nose being like this, but her fixation on it is strange to me. If I ask her if she's feeling pressured, she'll probably get offended. Now I don't know whether to go through with the surgery or just deal with it.

My cousin also had a nose job for his fiancée, I swear I kept hearing about it afterward. It always became a trump card in arguments, like, 'I did it for you.' Just ask your fiancée directly: is this your choice, or is it due to her pressure? Decide accordingly because this surgery is a big deal.

Is this really the first time? I mean, has your fiancé been saying things like this about your appearance from the beginning? Or has he just been intending to do so recently?

@elifbu actually hadn't said something so obvious before, but for instance, she once asked me to get my eyebrows done, and I just brushed it off by saying 'I already do'. Now that this nose topic has come up, I find it a bit strange 😅

@gizem34 you've exaggerated the negative side of the situation. I mean, couples heal each other in the end. Isn't marriage somewhat about these things? If your fiancé is supporting you to fix an issue you're struggling with, why label it as pressure right away?

I'm not a cosmetic surgeon, but if the wedding is just a few months away, such a surgery could be risky. The healing process varies from person to person; swelling usually settles down in 6-12 months. To achieve the best result, you might want to consider it after the wedding and talk openly about it with them.
