Your body, your choice. His perception of modernity doesn’t have to align with your preferences. Either set clear boundaries, or question the engagement, I think. Pressuring on such a matter is really a red flag.

Actually, your fiancé might not have said it from a bad place; while talking about modernity, perhaps they meant comfort. But of course, if you don't want to, they can't force you. The so-called modernity shouldn't override your decisions.
