The boss is behaving as if they will fire me

I've been feeling like cold winds are blowing at the place I've worked for 4 years lately. My boss hasn't looked me in the face for weeks, my workload has changed, but no one is saying anything. I'm genuinely anxious. Am I going to get fired, or am I just imagining things? Has anyone else experienced something like this before?

I experienced a similar situation too; suddenly, the people at my job of three years started behaving coldly towards me. They reduced my work, and after a while, I realized it was because they were considering someone else for my position. So, it might be the same thing, but I think you should try to talk openly first; it's hard to understand without directly asking.

My boss was doing the same thing, avoiding eye contact and all that... In the end, I learned that resources at work were dwindling, and he was planning layoffs but didn’t say it outright. If you sensed that something was off, I think there's definitely a suspicious situation.

I'm sorry, but you might be overthinking things. When you work in the same job for 4 years, close communication can dwindle over time. Everyone has their own responsibilities, you know. Thinking you’ll be dismissed just because you haven’t talked in weeks seems a bit exaggerated to me. If you're in a professional environment, try not to get carried away by such things.

In such cases, according to labor law, the employer actually has an obligation to provide a reason. However, they usually act strategically and may use tactics to pressure you into leaving without exhausting you. If you have concerns about your rights, such as severance pay or notice periods, it’s advisable to consult a labor law attorney.

Let me add this too, the boss is keeping silent, but last week I felt some strange looks from my coworkers a couple of times. No one is saying anything, but I think something is going on. Should I confide in someone? 😂

I think it might be risky to open up and ask about the situation. People usually try to remain neutral in these matters, and the reactions of your colleagues could make you even more uneasy. But if you really want to confront it, at least try talking privately with one person, don’t spread it to everyone 🫣
