They made fun of my patron outfit

Today during the meeting, my boss said, 'Are these shoes appropriate for the meeting?' and everyone laughed. I took it very personally, but I stayed silent. It might have seemed funny, but his tone was serious. Did I overreact? Or should I have done something to prevent such things from becoming normalized?
