My girlfriend has started following all my friends

I've noticed over the past few days that my girlfriend has sent friend requests to all my female friends on Instagram. She says she hasn't talked to anyone, but I don't understand why she did something like that. I'm feeling both jealous and a bit uncomfortable. How should I approach her about this? Is this a trust issue, or is it something that doesn't need to be blown out of proportion?

It might be a bit early to see this directly as jealousy or a trust issue, but we can call it boundaries. It's natural for people to follow their friends, but adding all of them at once is noteworthy. There may be an internal control mechanism or a desire to test you. You need to ask this openly; you can't resolve the situation without understanding their intention.

My ex did something like this too. She added all my friends, and then one day I realized she was having little chats in DMs. I mean, I'm not saying there's definitely bad intent here, but I suggest you pay attention to this behavior. Don't just leave it without asking directly.

To be honest, are you being a bit too jealous? After all, he can follow anyone he wants, that's his freedom. I don't understand why you're so bothered by it. If he says he's not talking to anyone, try to believe him a little; that way, you'll have a healthier communication.

I also want to add this: Actually, he is not a very jealous type; in fact, I'm usually the more jealous one. But this situation felt strange to me. He was constantly looking at a close friend of mine, and I noticed this afterwards. To be honest, I didn’t know what to do.

The issue here isn't about adding friends, but rather not understanding your discomfort or not being careful while speaking. Being in a relationship is not a power struggle. You should express your discomfort clearly, so that if there's an intention, it can be understood. But if they can't realize that they are violating your consent and boundaries, that's where the problem lies.
