I got distracted by palpitations while the famous couple was said to have divorced.

Last night, while trying to check out the news of a couple’s separation, comments flooded in with mentions of weight, breakdown, aesthetics, and nervous crises. As I was reading, I suddenly turned the focus on myself because I’ve been experiencing random heart palpitations for the last 2-3 weeks, and when I drink coffee, it feels like my hands are going numb, plus my appetite has become strange. On one hand, I think everyone acts like a psychologist when they see gossip, but on the other hand, I feel like this kind of palpitations isn’t normal and I should get it checked out. Honestly, I don’t want to just brush it off as a panic attack, but my mom keeps insisting that running from hospital to hospital is just stress.

I experienced something similar to this. During the pandemic, I was unemployed, constantly drinking coffee while getting stressed out watching the news at home. One day, while carrying a bag at the supermarket, my hand trembled and then my breathing changed. I went to the heart doctor, but nothing was found. They just said it was stress. But if you’re really worried and getting worse, I’d say get it checked out.

How many coffees do you drink a day and how long do these quick heart palpitations last? I mean, a few minutes or something like half an hour?

@kahvebitmeden it’s a maximum of 2 coffees a day, but it would be more accurate to say this strange feeling lasts for about 10-15 minutes. It happens once and that’s it. Most likely, something is tightening inside me during that time, I don’t know.

@makarnaoncesi you’re right on one hand, but there are narratives where stress is always used as a facade, making everything its fault. I think cutting it off without checking was unnecessary. Especially heart.

Palpitations generally occur due to three things: either a physical issue (like blood pressure or heart rhythm), psychological factors (such as panic or anxiety), or a side effect of a medication/food. Honestly, you can’t just choose one without seeing a doctor. Because they are all distinguished by specific tests. You can also tell your mom, ‘blood pressure won’t improve just by hanging up the phone.’

Friends, no one has commented on the part about connecting to the topic from this magazine, but it’s really detective work. Well done to you.

it’s not normal, go straight to the doctor.
