I've been experiencing recurring itchiness for a long time and I'm embarrassed

Girls, I have been experiencing itching in my genital area for a while now, and to be honest, I’m hesitant to see a doctor. I can’t really figure out what it’s related to—stress or something else? Could it be something serious, or will it pass with some methods I try at home? Do you think I should go directly to the doctor?

I also had an itching problem in the same area; it kept recurring. There was a fungus, and that’s when I went to a gynecologist. The doctor gave me a cream and a suppository, and it cleared up immediately. Don’t hesitate, really, it gets sorted out quickly.

I suggest you go to a gynecologist. They are already used to these things; even if it seems very special to you, they see such things every day. Just saying “I have itching in my genital area” is enough

I don’t know, but I think you need to think twice before posting things like this on social media. It’s a private issue after all, not everything can be solved here. If you’re hesitant, at least open up to your mom or an older sister, you need a doctor.

Itchy skin can be stress-related, but it could also be due to an infection. However, if it has been recurring for a long time, there is a high possibility it could be a fungal infection or an allergic reaction. I recommend that you do not take the risk of trying to remedy it yourself and definitely see a gynecologist or a dermatologist.

Thank you for the comments, girls. Actually, these problems started about 3 months ago; sometimes they go away, but then they start again. It feels like it might be related to my underwear, but I’m not sure. I’m a bit scared since it doesn’t just go away.

I’m sorry, but it would probably be better if you didn’t talk about these things here. Have you ever thought about what would happen if something like this were heard in the neighborhood? A certain level of privacy should be maintained in society. But if you’re very uncomfortable, go see a doctor; social media is not a solution.
