No doctor came for emergency birth contractions

Last night, I suddenly started having contractions, and my husband took me to the emergency room. The doctor there examined my contractions but refused to call the obstetrician, saying, “Wait until the morning; it seems like an early labor anyway.” Right now, I’m very anxious; I’m going to another hospital in the morning, but I don’t know how to get over this situation mentally. Do you think this is normal?

I don’t think it’s normal at all. My cousin went once with contractions, and someone from obstetrics came right away. It seems risky to say wait until morning. I don’t understand :woman_shrugging:

So the doctor didn’t really do much, just said something about looking with the eyes, right? Didn’t you need to be connected to the NST device or something?

@camkenari no, she just did a manual examination. then she said, ‘it looks like an earlier delivery.’ but it feels to me like intervention was necessary.

@uykuarasi Sure, it’s easy to load onto the doctor, but maybe they’re right. If it’s a premature birth, what will they do? There are hospital procedures, immediate intervention may not be possible.

In fact, we cannot speak without knowing the hospital conditions, but if there is a suspicion of premature birth, an obstetrician should be present. You can request a statement from the chief physician for patient rights.

@makarnaoncesi People have come in pain, saying they should wait until morning seems to me like a convenience. Should the health system work like this? It’s strange to normalize this

this isn’t normal. you should file a complaint.

But a person doesn’t trust anymore with things like this. If you’re going to another hospital, explain it nicely so nothing is left out. I hope you get better.

if the pain increases again, call 112 directly, they will dispatch someone. at least you’ll be seen by a specialist :slightly_smiling_face:
