My family is telling me how to do my skincare routine

My family is overly involved with the products I use for my skincare, it's complete chaos. They constantly criticize the creams and masks I use. I feel like my own preferences aren't being respected. Should I find a solution for this, or should I just not care?

I don't understand why it has to interfere with family skincare 🤷‍♀️

I had a similar experience, my mom kept telling me to stop using toner, saying it was harmful. In the end, I realized that it was more about controlling my habits than the product itself.

Are the products you're using expensive or do they seem like advertising gimmicks? Maybe that's why they're intervening?

@yazipsildim no, actually they're affordable products, not things like dermocosmetics. Mostly supermarket products.

I think this issue is being dragged out a bit too much. Sure, the interference is silly, but why are you getting upset instead of reaching out? I suggest you think about what you're saying.

Interventions from the family usually stem from a protective instinct. From a scientific perspective, using products that are not suitable for your skin type can indeed cause serious reactions. Consulting a dermatology specialist and making a decision together could be a sensible approach.
