My mom keeps commenting about my skin, what should I do?

I've had quite a few pimples on my skin lately, and with stress and all, I just can't get a grip. My mom says things like, 'You ate sugar again, didn't you?' whenever she sees me, without making it obvious. Honestly, it gets me down, but I can't say anything. Do you think I should just talk openly about it, or should I let it slide?

My mom used to do similar things as well. She would especially keep asking about sweets and fatty foods. One day I sat down and said, 'Mom, I get more stressed when you say that,' and since then, it has decreased a lot. I think you really need to talk to her.

My skin gets ruined during stressful times too. At first, I would get annoyed when my mom noticed, but then I started telling her, 'Yes, I did it, I know.' She didn't prolong it. Maybe she was expecting approval or blame.

Let me talk a bit biologically, these situations can generally stem from hormonal fluctuations. Stress feeds that cycle. But the main issue is communication; try starting from a place like 'this is exhausting me, I already know that' with your mother.

Actually, I'm not very indifferent towards my mom. Once, I told her, 'You say don’t stress, but when you say that, I end up feeling worse, Mom.' She just laughed and changed the subject, so I don't push the matter too much.

But I don’t think it’s necessary to dwell on the subject that much. I mean, someone said something, is it really worth making such a big deal out of it? My mom used to say much more exaggerated things; you get used to it after a while.

What she said, "you had sugar again," cuts like a knife, you know? My brother used to say that to me too, and because of that, I felt ashamed even when I ate chocolate. As if I had committed a crime.

Let me put it this way, your mom might have a point. If your skin isn't recovering, are you really paying attention to your sugar and nutrition? Instead of getting upset right away, think about it.

Come on, you're exaggerating when you say "he might be right" and stuff. Everyone goes through these kinds of things, it's normal after all. Does his mom really have to mention it every single time?
