My mom spent a fortune on my dowry and bought a ton of stuff, but unfortunately, one of the things she got me is totally useless. She put in a scented body cream, but my skin is already sensitive, and I have an allergy too. Now she wants me to use it, but my face is literally swelling up. What can I do to get rid of this cream without upsetting her?
My mom also bought me such an expensive lotion back in the day, but my skin is already combination, it rejected it immediately. Besides, those scented creams are not suitable for sensitive skin at all. I think you should tell her straight up, after all, your health is important. If you don’t use it, she’ll notice that later too.
Well, didn’t you say that from the beginning? Doesn’t your mom know that your skin is sensitive? Because this allergy thing is no joke.
@merveee Actually, they know, but they’re in the mindset of “everyone is using it.” Plus, it’s expensive, so maybe they insist that it will be useful.
@sude51 You’ve written like you’re directly blaming your mom, but after all, she probably meant well. Instead of getting angry and lashing out, you could talk it out and find a solution.
You need to stop using it as soon as you notice redness and swelling on your skin. Fragranced products are generally not suitable for sensitive skin types. Were you able to check what kind of ingredients are in it? You can buy a simple moisturizer for sensitive skin from the pharmacy and show it to your mom; you can compare them.
