My mom keeps telling me to go to the doctor, and it makes me really stressed.

The appointment has been delayed for 10 days, and frankly, this situation scares me a bit, but my mom’s pressure has stressed me out even more. She keeps saying, “Come on, go to the doctor, don’t put it off.” But I really hesitate to go for an examination, especially to explain my problem to someone… I’ve never gone through anything like this before. Do you think I should go to a doctor right away, or should I wait and say that it happens when I get stressed?

I had my period delayed by 15 days once too, and it was due to stress. But I was so tense that I had no choice but to go to the doctor. If I hadn’t gone, I would have felt even worse, overthinking it in my head. I think your mom is right; you need to go.

I don’t understand, what’s the point of being so hesitant? It’s a health issue after all, why are you so afraid to tell the doctor about your problems? Instead of being angry with your mom, take a little care of yourself.

@ters_kose, there’s actually something more like shame than fear, I can’t quite describe it. Plus, it’s the first time I’m experiencing something like this, which makes it feel bigger.

What kind of logic is this! @ters_kose don’t say to the topic owner “don’t hesitate”, you say it’s that simple, but a person can’t change their feelings immediately. At least offer some support.

To be honest, a 10-day delay can sometimes be considered normal, but if it’s your first time experiencing it, it makes sense to see a doctor. The obstetrics department is already used to this situation. Only the doctor can clearly say whether it’s just stress or something else.

If your mother is pressing this much, I can say that she is either suspicious of something else or doesn’t trust you, but of course, it’s hard to speak definitively. Maybe she sensed that you didn’t want something, I don’t know.

So, is there anything else besides this delay? For example, are you experiencing pain, sensitivity, or anything like that? I’m asking because I found out I have a hormonal disorder.

Make an appointment directly with a gynecologist. The examination is very quick anyway. Honestly explain your delay, and you can also ask for a blood test. It’s just a quick in-and-out situation, don’t make it a big deal.
