My parents say they won't accept me if I don't marry the child they found for me.

I really have lost my patience; I mean, the same topic keeps coming up at home every day. My mom insists there’s this son of one of their acquaintances who is supposed to be a really nice guy, a civil servant and all, but I just don’t want to meet him, I can’t warm up to him at all. My dad literally laid down the law last night saying if I don’t meet this guy, he won’t talk to me again and I shouldn’t expect him to forgive me. Is it normal for there to be this kind of pressure in this day and age? Honestly, I’m at a loss for what to do.
