I was doing my evening skincare mask when my boyfriend walked into the room and burst out laughing when he saw me. He compared it to a âhorror movieâ scene and laughed a lot. At first, it was funny, but then he kept making jokes, and I got a little annoyed. How can I explain this to someone who doesnât take skincare seriously? Am I being too sensitive?

7Well, my ex used to do similar things too. When he saw me in a mask, he made fun of me, but after a while, I realized it wasnât about the mask; he was underestimating the effort I put into taking care of myself. So I canât guarantee anything, but donât ignore this.
Let me tell you, itâs normal for your girlfriend to make jokes like this, but you seem pretty offended. Has she teased you like this before?
@ikirummuz yeah, I felt before that you didnât take these things seriously a couple of times. Normally itâs fun, but you seem a bit frivolous on certain topics.
@makarnaoncesi yes, but now everyone mocking doesnât necessarily mean itâs such a âdisparagementâ. There might be a mismatch in humor understanding, so I think donât blow it out of proportion ![]()
If we evaluate this in a more general way, itâs important that personal routines like skincare are respected. Constantly making jokes like this may indicate that they are pushing your boundaries. Itâs necessary to have a conversation and clearly express how this situation has made you feel.
I think itâs sensitive. Donât dwell on it, itâll pass.
Isnât the title âThe Ghost Said, Am I Annoying?â a bit exaggerated? If you want to make the topic more serious, itâs better to explain it more clearly.
