I want to detox but my job is on social media

Lately, it feels like I’m really struggling to breathe. Social media has become both my job and my lifestyle, but I’m constantly dealing with the feeling of ā€œnot being enough.ā€ Sometimes, I want to just turn everything off and do a complete detox, but I’m terrified of falling behind at work. How do you maintain your mental health while working in this industry? Is it even possible to find a balance without being constantly glued to a screen?

I also felt this sense of ā€˜not being able to keep up’ for a while. Especially if you are constantly creating content, your mind never gets to rest. At one point, I started doing this: I blocked off certain hours for myself every day, and my phone was on silent. It didn’t affect my work either, because when you work in a structured way, you manage to keep up.

I mean, sure, social media is your thing, but constantly complaining won’t change anything. Maybe you’re getting too caught up in it? It’s up to you to set your own boundaries, after all. While you’re complaining about everything, not finding a solution is also your choice.

Actually, this situation is quite common among professionals in this sector. Yours may not be full-blown burnout, but the symptoms are noticeable. Seeking support from a psychologist doesn’t have to mean you quit your job; for example, you could work on stress management or time planning.

So here’s the thing… I had thought about putting some time restrictions for a while, but things can get really inconsistent at times. During campaign periods, I need to be at my screen. I’d love to hear any practical suggestions for getting started :upside_down_face:

Everyone around me is trying to do things on Instagram as well… Honestly, there are very few people who can maintain a balance. My friend fixed her content update days to a couple of specific days; she works like crazy on those days, but on the other days, she says she doesn’t pay attention to it. Maybe that logic works for you?
