My family keeps pressuring me about my wedding

I've set my wedding date, but my family keeps interfering. Between choosing outfits and deciding on the number of guests, they're driving me crazy. I respect their opinions, but I want to fulfill my own dream entirely. What should I do? Should I stay away from my family for a few days and get my own plans in order?

My mom was always interfering with my wedding too. When I ran out of patience, I directly said, 'It's my wedding, my decision,' and then she eased up a bit. But I struggled a lot, it's not easy.

Have you ever tried to speak openly? I mean, to explain your dreams in a way that they would understand?

@uykuarasi I actually tried, but they say, 'We know better, you don't have the right to do this.' Okay, they may have wedding experiences, but their pressure is really frustrating.

If the family is paying for the job, I think it's normal for them to completely get involved. If it's your dream, then you should also cover the budget. Otherwise, this won't work.

As a wedding planner, I can say that families generally approach the engagement-wedding business with a lot of emotions. However, if you present your wishes clearly and as a concept, it can be effective. You might not be able to get everyone's opinion 100% by saying, 'We thought about this and we will do it this way.'

Well, be patient; it doesn't end when you clash with family.

@kahvemoldu Just because they're paying, they can't meddle in everything. The wedding is just one day in his life; the family should show a bit of respect.
