Embarrassed at the pharmacy by saying 'again?'

I haven’t had my period for a week, and to be honest, I panicked a bit. I went to a pharmacy I had used before. When I asked for a test, the pharmacist said, ‘Again? Don’t stress so much!’ and laughed quite a bit. I felt embarrassed in front of everyone. Does she have the right to say that? How would you react if you experienced something like this?

We go through things like this, but I think the pharmacist’s attitude was wrong. Asking for a test is your personal matter, so why are they talking to you like that? And mocking you in front of everyone is really not okay.

I’m going to ask you something, is that a small neighborhood pharmacy or more of a central place? Because in small neighborhoods, when everyone knows each other, they can behave more casually.

@kahvebitmeden yes, it’s a small neighborhood pharmacy, and I’ve taken the test a few times before. But isn’t it strange how much they’re pressuring me?

@aklimkaldi I think this growth is a bit much. The guy smiled because he remembered you, maybe he wasn’t even being malicious. You seem to be a bit too hung up on it.

@soncaykaldi even if it’s not malicious, jokes shouldn’t be made about something like this. Making fun of it in front of everyone is really disturbing. There’s such a thing as distance, after all.

Healthcare workers need to be more careful when it comes to topics that involve such privacy. Pharmacists should also comply with confidentiality rules. If you couldn’t react directly in such a situation, indicating that you will complain later could also be a method.

That’s not acceptable. No one should invade someone’s private life like this.

If the same person at the pharmacy keeps displaying this kind of attitude, others are probably uncomfortable too. Ask a neighbor or someone; have they experienced something similar? Maybe you can collectively change something.
