I’ve been feeling nauseous lately and decided to take a test out of some suspicion. I told my spouse, and they said, ‘Go to the pharmacy and get one, we’ll see.’ To be honest, I expected a bit of support with something like this. I went alone to buy the test, but I felt a bit strange about it. Do you think these kinds of things are personal, or do you think my spouse is acting weird by not coming with me?
I think it’s a strange behavior. She should have been there when going to the pharmacy, especially in such a delicate situation. Support shows itself in moments like these. Honestly, I would have been hurt if I were in her place.
So, does your partner always act distant in sensitive matters? Is this the first time they have remained cold in such a situation, or is it a general tendency?
@elifbak Similar things happened before, but it wasn’t as obvious as this. I mean, they were usually small things, and I hadn’t paid much attention to them.
@melis35 I think you’re overreacting, it’s just about taking a test, the guy doesn’t mind going to the pharmacy. There’s no need to blow this out of proportion. Family life is, after all, filled with everyday things.
In matters like pregnancy tests, people can think differently. For some, it is a personal situation where their partner doesn’t need to be involved; for others, support is symbolically important. It’s important to openly share your feelings about these kinds of things with your partner.
