My wife took a pregnancy test a few days ago, and it came back positive. We both had dreams and plans, but right now I am overwhelmed with anxiety; I am literally scared. Family pressure, the wedding date, and financial issues are confusing me, and I don’t even know what kind of decision I should make.

8When we first learned, my spouse and I experienced the same fears; we never felt ready, but over time, everything fell into place. Even though finances were a bit tight, once the baby arrived, people somehow adapt.
How old are you, by the way? Also, was it planned or was it a complete surprise? You didn’t mention that part.
@camkenari I’m 30 years old, my spouse is 28. It wasn’t planned, I can say it was a bit of a surprise. The main stress actually comes from here.
@soncaykaldi not everyone is going to adapt in the same way; if the material aspect is weighing heavily, it doesn’t get resolved with enthusiasm alone. The guy has already clearly said he doesn’t feel ready.
Your feelings and emotions may be complicated, but the main issue in this process is to maintain open communication with your partner. Financial concerns are a serious matter; you might consider seeking help from a financial planner or psychological support.
I think we’re steering the topic in the wrong direction. The main question was whether it’s family pressure or freedom, but it seems like everyone got caught up in the material aspects ![]()
family pressure always
Pregnancy affects you as much as it does your partner, that much is clear. But there will never be a guarantee of feeling “ready” here, because life is played on slippery ground. My main question is this: How is your partner’s emotional state, where does he stand in this uncertainty? You need to listen not just to yourself but also to him.
