My spouse stopped the washing machine with laundry inside

The other day I threw my underwear in the washing machine, and when my spouse went into the bathroom for a task, they noticed and stopped the machine. They were bothered by a menstrual stain and said, “Wouldn’t it be better to wash this separately?” Honestly, I felt embarrassed but at the same time, I was angry. After all, it’s a natural thing. Haven’t you experienced something like this before? If your spouse reacted this way, how do you handle it?

It happened to me once too. We didn’t argue at that moment, but later I sat down and talked about it. It seemed like they didn’t completely understand that it was a natural thing. I had to explain a bit.

So did he just suddenly get upset for no reason? I don’t get it. Had he never seen it before?

@camliperde actually knew she was on her period but linked it to hygiene when she saw it on the laundry.

@kulpusoran is talking about hygiene, but I think we need to look for something else underneath. It’s not something that needs to be blown out of proportion.

Washing colored laundry separately makes sense from a hygiene perspective, but the discomfort it creates between partners is a different issue. It seems like it can be overcome through communication.

Saying “communication overcomes it” with @temizcevap is not a solution. It’s like he can’t differentiate between a man’s period and hygiene.

Adam has really exaggerated

@uyukalbi it’s not that simple, people might have sensitivities. do we really have to normalize everything?
