Is this dress too much for my ex's wedding?

Hey friends, so here's the situation: my ex is getting married and I have to go because of our mutual friends, to be honest. I have a really beautiful but somewhat daring black dress with a backless design. I mean, I don't want everyone to stare at me, but I also don't want to blend into the background. Do you think going to a place like this looking so chic would seem desperate, or would it be just right? I can't decide, give me some advice.

A black dress with a plunging neckline is basically a classic for every wedding, so it won't be too over the top. If you're going because of mutual friends, it's likely the other girls in the group will dress similarly, so you won't feel out of place at all.
