Is having a roommate really that hard when it comes to hygiene?

I shared an apartment with my roommate because of the rent. I’m a recent graduate and, as you know, it’s really hard to pay rent on my own. But she literally left her hair in the shower drain when she got in there. I’m hesitant to say anything, but it’s making me feel sick. Should I talk about this or just get used to it?

my former roommate was the same. she would always brush her hair and leave it in the shower. I couldn’t say anything back then, and later other things piled up and we blew up. it would have been better if we had talked openly

Is this the first time? I think it depends on its continuity.

@iki_dakika I’ve actually noticed it a few times before, but let’s just say I never really dwelled on it—maybe he didn’t even see it. But this time it was very obvious.

No way, I think your friend doesn’t know how to pay attention. How will it be solved without talking? You said you’re feeling nauseous, so let’s resolve it before it builds up :slightly_smiling_face:

Bathroom hygiene is important. If the shower drain gets clogged, it can lead to issues like water flooding in the long run. Don’t hesitate to speak up because you’ll be the one to suffer the real consequences.

You said it was due to sharing the cost, but hygiene issues seem to be more exhausting for you. These kinds of things should be clarified from the start.

It seems a bit exaggerated when bringing up the topic. Letting your hair grow is bad, yes, but it feels like the stress of being a recent graduate and living together plays a part in this too.

The hair issue is one thing, but what about other traits? Does everything stand out to you like that on its own, or is there a general intolerance forming? When choosing a roommate, it’s actually important to consider compatibility in temperaments as well.
