When I stayed with my male roommate, my mom acted like I had totally lost my religion. But they get used to it over time, just ignore it a bit.

@pazardandondum So, because we as a nation love gossip, even friendship becomes a problem. It's a ridiculous vicious cycle.
Actually, this is common in traditional family structures. Instead of conflict, you can resolve it by finding a way to make the situation feel safer. For example, you could clearly state that your relationship with your boyfriend has some distance, or occasionally invite a girlfriend over.
