My roommate filled the kitchen with her boyfriend

My roommate started a new relationship and is cooking while video calling with her boyfriend in the kitchen. The problem is that you can't see anything on the screen because of the steam (interesting technical details), and she's leaving a mess behind. For instance, she had a pasta adventure that left the ceiling covered in grease. I told her, 'look, this is a shared space,' but she keeps saying, 'okay, I'll clean it up' and postpones it. Should I try to talk openly, or just distance myself? Is being considerate too much to ask now?
