I don't understand why you're trying to solve these kinds of things on social media. Just ask the guy directly what he thought while liking it. This mess is exhausting.
I think, from what I've seen, this might be more related to social media habits. Some people might be curious about your close circle, while others prefer to keep their distance. If you don't approach it too antagonistically when asking, I think it can be resolved. 😬
