I think your partner may sometimes have trouble with work planning, but that doesn't immediately mean they're irresponsible. Asking for support with the last task should be seen as an investment. Maybe if they receive that payment, there will be some relief, and they can pay off their debt right away. But if they make this a regular thing, then you need to sit down and talk about it.
So has he ever appreciated it in such a situation before? I mean, when you support him, what kind of reaction does he give in return? Does he say thank you, or does he see it as something normal?

It seems like there’s no more sacrifice in current relationships. In the past, people would support each other both materially and emotionally. I hope I didn’t misunderstand, your partner is looking for a solution but you’re hesitating a bit. I think we shouldn’t worry about these small amounts.
If you lend money, make a clear plan with a specified date and amount. Otherwise, this could backfire on you. If it keeps repeating, bigger problems may arise.
