What do you think it means to get caught secretly eating at night?

I went to the kitchen at midnight, heated a bowl full of pasta, and just as I was about to sit in the corner to eat, my wife turned on the light. I couldn't tell if she was joking around or genuinely worried. Do you think this is a normal situation, or should I seek help?

I'm doing the same in the dorm, you know, it’s seriously embarrassing to be caught in the kitchen at night with a pot on my back. But you've chosen good pasta, I think if it doesn't upset your stomach, it's all good 😬

I think it's very normal. For example, sometimes I get up in the middle of the night and eat whatever I can find, from chocolate to rice. My spouse made fun of it at first, but then got used to it 🙄

There might actually be a message in your partner's teasing as well. Maybe they think you're weak during the day and make up for it at night? Why not ask them the real question? 🙄

The desire to eat at night can sometimes be related to actual hunger, and other times it can be linked to what we call emotional eating. If it happens frequently, it's better to consult a dietitian or a psychologist. If it's just once, there's nothing to worry about 🥲

She didn’t actually seem that angry when I saw her smile, but she just said, "Are you really hungry at this hour, or are you just bored?" When I thought about it, I felt a bit embarrassed; I guess she got annoyed.

So, do these nighttime eating events happen all the time? And do you eat properly during the day? Maybe that's why it hits you at night.

They say not to eat at night because it’s bad for your heart. That’s why I was a bit scared, to be honest. If yours is serious and recurring, please take care of it.

It would be better to talk openly with your partner and say something like, 'Don't take it personally, I have this habit.' But on the other hand, if it's just a one-time thing, don't make a big deal out of it in your head.
