I get angry when a man with a past wants a virgin wife

The topic came up in a friend group. One guy casually said, "I've lived my life, but the girl I marry should be a virgin." Someone called this a preference, while another called it a double standard. I got upset at that moment because if a woman said the same thing, it would be a scandal.

I know that nobody has to marry anyone. But it feels very hypocritical to view one's own past as normal while describing a woman's past in a dirty way. Is this a personal space issue, or is it about establishing superiority based on the concept of honor we know?

One can say preference, but first they must weigh their own past on the same scale. The phrase "I live, the woman does not" is not a preference; it is asking for privilege.

I am a conservative person; I care about the background of the person I will marry. However, I find it wrong that this is expressed as freedom for men and restrictions for women.

Exactly these types then walk around saying "I'm a real man." When it comes to women, it's about honor, but when it comes to themselves, it's just a youthful mistake. They won't buy it.

@sertkahve everyone can have their own criteria. If a woman wants a virgin man, then no one should interfere with that either. The issue isn't the criteria, it's the derogatory language.

There are two separate issues here for me. The first is the right of everyone to choose their partner, the second is portraying a gender's history as a stain. The second is an old societal issue.

This is the part that makes me angry as well. If he said, "I want someone like this," it would be debatable, but when he says, "it should be clean," it drives me crazy.

The word "clean" is already causing all the fights. Is man a detergent?
