I got my period in the pool, it was so uncomfortable!

Friends, I got my period at the pool last summer and it was totally embarrassing. I don't really prefer using tampons either. Is there a solution to be comfortable in the pool? What should I do about this, and how can I overcome my anxiety?

I've had my period in the pool before, I had a tampon, but I still felt anxious. I've stopped hanging out in pools since that day 🫠

Why don't you prefer using tampons, is there another reason?

I don't understand why people are panicking like this; haven't you ever heard that something doesn't float in water? I think it's an exaggerated anxiety.

@yazipsildim, I'm actually hesitant because I'm not used to it, and it feels like I won't be able to relax.

@soncaykaldi The information that the flow of water stops is incorrect; scientifically, there is no such thing. The menstrual flow only slows down underwater.

If you don't have a chance to try tampons, maybe you can try taking a high dose of vitamin E and reducing your period a bit beforehand, but the definite solution is tampons.

Is it worth stressing out over a pool like this? If it were the sea, it would be one thing, but a pool isn't even hygienic.

a tampon is the most reliable option in this case. you can try a few different brands and sizes to find one that's comfortable and suitable for you. there are also menstrual cups, but it might take longer to get used to them 🫠

It's actually a bit normal to feel anxious; you overthink it, but in practice, it usually isn't a problem. Once you get used to swimming on your period, you feel more comfortable. It might feel weird during the first few tries, but after that, you won't care. Just think of it like "it happens to everyone; they don't even notice" 😬
