My girlfriend wrote “the meaning of my life” publicly in her story on my birthday last week. But yesterday, she commented “you look great” on a photo of her ex. When I saw that, I was literally shaking. What kind of diet is this, what kind of pickled cabbage is this? What would you do if you were in my place? She was so trustworthy that this really destroyed me.
my ex once posted a photo on my birthday and wrote “forever” underneath it, but it turned out they were chatting with someone else at the time. I would say the same thing could be happening with you, but maybe they just wrote it in a “friendly” way. I think you should ask!

Saying “you look really beautiful just by yourself” isn’t too much, but the fact that he’s an ex is problematic. However, I think over-analyzing this is harmful to you. Just ask him directly.
If @aklimkaldi is looking at the story, they might be doing it to make someone jealous or they could be trying to project the image that there’s no problem with their ex. I think there might be something left between them or we might be completely caught off guard.
you’ve written the title a bit exaggerated, just for someone who made a comment you’re dramatizing it by saying “the day they called me my life” and so on 
Interactions with an ex in relationships can be a sensitive area. However, if this situation causes you significant discomfort, it means there is a lack of communication regarding trust. You should talk openly and explain the reason for your discomfort.
