Is wearing a mask every day harmful or beneficial for the skin?

Guys, I’ve had a lot of acne from wearing a mask during the pandemic. Now I’ve gotten into natural masks to fix this, but I wonder if I’m having a counterproductive effect by using them every day? On one hand, I feel clean and healthy, but on the other hand, it feels like my skin is tense. Do you think this routine is right? Has anyone tried it?

I went through the same thing. My chin was a total mess because of those surgical masks during the pandemic; I literally broke out in pimples. I also got into natural masks, but doing it every day was too much for my skin. It started to get better when I switched to doing it every three days. I recommend not skipping the moisturizer.

Actually, it was the exact opposite for me. After making a lot of masks, my skin barrier weakened and started to peel. I think too much of anything is harmful, what would happen if you took a bit of a break? :grimacing:

It is generally not recommended to use a mask every day because it can disrupt the skin’s natural oil balance. Especially clay masks can be very drying. If you’ve started experiencing sensitivity, I would suggest seeing a dermatologist.

Actually, what I’m using is more of a moisture mask style. But that tight feeling feels strange, like I’ve done too much. Maybe I need to switch to different products.

Honey, isn’t your problem really the acne that came out during the pandemic? Now don’t stress your skin by making unnecessary masks. Drink water, wash your face well, and just use a good moisturizer.

So how long do you keep these masks on your face? And are they all the same type, like are you mixing clay and moisturizing masks and so on?

Natural masks and such are fine, but we didn’t used to fuss over such things in the past. We’d just wash our face with a good soap, and it would go away. You’re spending too much money on all this, if you ask me. :grimacing:
