I experienced an interesting form of discrimination at work; do you think I misunderstood?

During a meeting, the patron said "that's not possible" to the idea I suggested, but when a male friend expressed the same idea, she responded that it was quite reasonable and it was implemented. I'm sure she did it knowingly, but those around me are saying "you're making a big deal out of this." Do you think there's discrimination in this, or am I being too sensitive?

I've experienced something similar, exactly what you said. They made fun of my idea in the meeting, then when a man said the same thing, they literally applauded. So I don't think this is just a coincidence; unfortunately, such things happen.

This happened to me too. I explained it to the boss openly, and he said he wasn't even aware of it, but later his attitude got a bit better. I think you should confront him too.

Emotional discrimination is very common in workplaces. In fact, in these situations, employers often don't do it consciously, but their unawareness of discrimination doesn't eliminate it. If you remain passive, it can continue.

I think you've been a bit sensitive. If the man's opinion was expressed differently than yours, it might have been more convincing. One shouldn't speak too definitively to call it outright discrimination.

Let me add something; my sentences were already clear, and the same thing was expressed by him in a somewhat more complicated way. But nobody told him "that's not right." When it comes to me, they cut me off immediately 😂

I swear, don’t take it the wrong way, but I think there might be some sort of hidden interest between them. In situations like this, favoritism is quite common. Maybe they have a good relationship, or there could be another reason 😐

This is exactly the most fundamental example of gender discrimination we encounter in the workplace today. If they approve a man instead of listening to your opinion, it reflects a societal issue. We should all speak up about such things 🙄

You should have a private conversation with the boss. Just directly say, 'I brought up the idea before, but I wasn't taken seriously, did I misunderstand something?' Their reaction will clarify things.

Look, to be honest, maybe your friend presented their idea in a different way, making it seem more feasible. We need to look at this objectively. We shouldn't assume that everyone is being discriminatory.
