Girls, I’ve been having this weird pain in my lower abdomen for a while, and I need to go to the doctor, but the thought of the examination table is really stressing me out. I mean, I’m honestly losing sleep over thinking about lying on that thing they call a stirrup — is it really that hard, and will it hurt? Honestly, is there anyone among you who is also going for the first time or has overcome this fear? Please give me some advice.

3So, where exactly is this pain in your lower abdomen? Is it on just one side or is it spreading? Also, how many days has this been going on?
Honestly, that fork issue isn’t as terrifying as you’ve made it out to be; it only takes about two minutes and it’s over quickly. You won’t feel pain, just a little pressure from the tension in that moment, that’s it ![]()
For abdominal pain, they usually start with an ultrasound from above, so they might not put you directly on the examination table. When you make the appointment, feel free to ask about that so you can be prepared, to be honest.
