The pressure at work is literally suffocating me

I spent all these years in this company, and now suddenly facing pressures like this seriously bothers me. Wearing jewelry was a form of expression for me, and it’s very strange that this is being banned. People should be free at work, right? What do you think?

I experienced this too at a company. They said that because I was a woman, dressing up too much wasn’t work-focused. I found another job. Honestly, there’s no psychology left in such places.

Is jewelry banned? That’s just ridiculous.

Why have they banned wearing jewelry? Can they call this occupational safety?

@kahvebitmeden no reason was given, they just said we are complying with the standards. It turns out I’m not the only one, but female employees feel more pressure.

If you just keep accepting it quietly, it will always go on like this. Sometimes people give up when they resist. Why didn’t you directly question it?

Depending on the sector you work in, the excuse of ‘job safety’ may make sense up to a point, but freedom of expression is also part of working life. When viewed legally, meaningless bans can fall under the scope of mobbing.

@aklimkaldi I think you should call the Ministry of Labor at Alo 170. Explain the situation. You will find out how valid the ban is.

I swear, I’m surprised by those who consider this mobbing. Do companies really have to be criticized for everything now? Maybe the stone-studded ring is causing some problems.

Is there a difference between men and women in the ban? Do they touch men’s watches, ties, and so on?

If restrictions are felt more acutely by women, the issue may not be about job security, but rather about perception. A male employee’s accessories attract less attention, while a female’s are seen as problematic. Would you not get a clear explanation if you asked your manager directly?
