I'm not earning enough in my current job, and that's why I've started looking for a new one. However, I have concerns about my rent and financial situation when making a job change. What are the challenges everyone faces in finding a job that will quickly cover my living expenses? I need to solve this as soon as possible.
What's that got to do with changing jobs and dating?
So do you have any savings right now? Or are you completely reliant on your salary?
@yazipsildim it's like I have no savings, I'm completely waiting for my salary unfortunately.
If you need to find a new job and you're this stressed, why aren't you planning ahead? You've acted like it was a surprise.
I also changed jobs 2 years ago due to rent reasons. My advice is to never resign without having another job lined up.
I think you should avoid making hasty decisions because of rent. The average time to find a job varies between 1-3 months depending on the industry, so you should have at least 3 months' worth of rent saved up. Try not to inflate your credit card unless absolutely necessary 🙂
@kahvebitmeden not everyone can be as organized as you, think about that too.
So, are you considering switching industries while looking for a job? Or are you planning to continue in your current field? Because there's a risk of shifting to the wrong industry due to rental pressure.
If you're thinking about changing sectors, I recommend you research the salary scale in that field well. Transitioning to a lower salary with the burden of rent might complicate things. Compare both salary and the time it takes to find a job, then make your decision.
If you're changing jobs due to rent pressure, stress management is crucial, because if you act tense in interviews, it will show on the other side. When evaluating offers, are you considering not just the rent but also workplace expenses? Travel, lunch, etc. can sometimes noticeably impact your budget.
But how satisfied are you with your current job? I mean, if you're going to change your work environment to a worse place just because of rent, I would think twice. Maybe starting with a request for a raise makes more sense.
