Trying to sell an apartment without informing the tenant

Today, a realtor I don't know called me and said he needed to show the house I'm living in. It turns out the owner has put the house up for sale without even informing me. Could there be a scenario where the new buyer asks me to leave? I have 6 months left on my lease, but the situation has gotten pretty complicated. What are my rights if the house is sold? Am I forced to leave?

it happened to me, they sold the house but the new owner didn't want to continue. a friend said they can't kick you out before the contract expires. do a little research, you're not obligated to leave.

Is there a special clause in the contract? For example, something like 'to be exited in case of sale' could be written sometimes.

@bugun_degil no, just a standard contract. there is no such clause.

I'm really surprised by friends who give such relaxed advice. What does "you don't have to go out" mean? The guy can sue you in a heartbeat! You need to check what the contract says first.

When a house under a lease is sold, the new buyer cannot evict you during the term of the contract. However, once the term expires, if they plan to live there, they can send you a notice and ask you to leave. So you have 6 months; for now, you're safe.

someone in our neighborhood had been really dragged out in a similar situation. they filed an eviction lawsuit to get him out in time, but because of the lawsuits, he ended up staying for another year. it's just a hassle, you know.

You wrote the title in such a way that it seemed like you wanted to create a controversy right from the start. Why has the real estate agent turned into such a separate issue?

@napimolmaz you are mistaken. Even if a new buyer is going to sit in before the contract expires, they cannot remove them. This is how rental law works 🤷‍♀️
